Toronto Maple Leafs news and chat: Three playoff formats, who’s the opponent?

Hello Toronto Maple Leafs fans!

I had no idea for this morning so I went back to the pit of playoff opponents.

Let’s go.

Divisions with and without joker
Points: Tampa Bay Lightning
Points %: Tampa Bay Lightning

Conference Seeded 1-8
Points: Pittsburgh Penguins
Points %: Boston Bruins

Seed League 1-16
Points: Edmonton Oilers
% points: Edmonton Oilers

We’ve all watched the divisional race and it’s still the Lightning anyway.

If we play under the old Conference rules, we get a black and yellow team no matter what, but it’s the Penguins by points and the Bruons by points percentage.

My favorite method, sorting the league by 1-16, gives us the Edmonton Oilers and oh man I wish the Leafs would knock them out.

So, in reality, that’s pretty much what we expected. Reality is boring.

Now more news:

Rick Westhead reports on hockey, does work, and doesn’t care about making friends. He says that information will be presented to Hockey Canada in June and the data will be made public.

Michael Misa joins John Tavares, Connor McDavid, Aaron Ekblad, Shane Wright and Sean Day as outstanding OHL players. Who he’s drafted by depends on who wins the toss among the OHL’s final four teams: Saginaw Spirit, Sudbury Wolves, Niagara Failsons and one of the Sarnia Sting or Erie Otters battling for the final playoff spot Western Conference playoffs.

Tyson Nash just had a fit of rage.

Yes, I wrote most of that thought I was supposed to post this on Thursday.

The Leafs won last night!

OK. My pup woke me up at 6:30 on a public holiday and that’s all you get.
