STATEN ISLAND, NY – A man was found dead on the waterfront in Livingston early Thursday morning.

A man told police he was fishing in the Kill Van Kull when he saw the man with a rope around his neck leaning against the rocks, according to a source familiar with the investigation.

The man who found the body on the shore at Richmond Terrace and Davis Avenue called 911 at around 1:45 a.m. EMS declared the unidentified man dead at the scene, according to a spokesperson for the Deputy Commissioner of Justice. NYPD information.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death and the NYPD investigation is continuing, the police spokesperson said.
