In the spirit of the season, the TNStars® College Savings 529 program is giving a Tennessee child a $ 5,000 scholarship awarded to a TNStars account, and there’s still time to participate!
For the third year in a row, residents of Tennessee aged 21 and over can enter to win at TNStars.com/Vacances until December 31 on behalf of a child 10 years of age or younger. A registration is valid for the entire duration of the competition. The $ 5,000 prize can be used by the winning recipient to cover future post-secondary education expenses ranging from tuition and accommodation to books, computers and more.
“We are very proud that Tennessee’s own college savings program has already helped over 21,000 children prepare for the future costs of higher education,” said State Treasurer David H. Lillard, Jr. “With TNStars, you can put the power of compound interest to work for you to grow your savings with your child. Without savings, compound interest can work against you by increasing the amount of debt your child would have by taking out loans. students.
TNStars® is designed to provide Tennessee families with high-quality, low-cost investment options to help them set money aside for higher education expenses. Families can invest directly with the program and the money can be withdrawn tax-free from a TNStars® account as long as it is used for qualifying post-secondary education expenses.
The previous two vacation scholarship winners were Ashlyn Gunter, 10, of Dayton, in 2020, and Abigail Berry, 10, of Kingsport, in 2019.
