Police investigate attempted carjacking at gunpoint


Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved in an attempt carjacking that performed on October 11 in the 8000 block of 13th Street in Silver Spring.

At approximately 8:41 p.m. on October 11, 3rd District officers responded to a report of an attempted carjacking at gunpoint. Detectives say the victim was sitting in the driver’s seat of his white 2022 Lexus RX350 when the The suspect opened the driver’s side door, pointed a black handgun and asked for the vehicle key. A suspect forcibly removed the victim from the Lexus when she refused to comply with the suspect’s demands and screamed for help. There were witnesses who intervened in the fight shouting that they were going Call the police. After snatching the Lexus key from the victim, the suspect fled in a dark-colored Toyota.

According to the MCPD, the suspect is described as black, armed with a black handgun, 5-foot-7, thin, about 25 years old, and wearing a black baseball cap and green hoodie.
