Payment, monitoring, management – Hectronic offers operators, cities and communities complete parking management from a single source. The Citea parking meter allows drivers to pay with coins or contactless with card or smartphone, while the CiteaPico is completely cashless and ticketless. Apart from this, the cloud-based HecSpot system enables the monitoring and optimization of the use of parking spaces. These two components are linked by the CityLine web management software, which allows you to perform configurations, retrieve statistics and monitor terminals and cameras in the field in real time. Payment data from mobile payment providers is also integrated into it. Hectronic enables the world of digital parking through the advanced development of traditional hardware.
Since the beginning of the Covid pandemic the number of contactless payments in retail has increased significantly. The desire for speed and ease payment by card or smartphone – for example via Apple Pay or Google Pay – also affects other applications. As a pioneer in this segment, Hectronic consistently implements customer requirements, among other things, by offering the new fully ticketless parking meter CiteaPico. By entering their parking time and license plate, drivers can use NFC (Near Field Communication) to pay their tickets on the reading device by credit or debit card, respectively by mobile device, and receive the receipts in the event of a successful transaction by SMS or e-mail on their mobile phone. This way, they no longer need to struggle with cumbersome cash counting. Operators, on the other hand, can save time-consuming and expensive emptying and secure transport of the crate.
With the Citea, the family business from Bonndorf always offers a classic parking meter allowing drivers to pay with coins and then receive a ticket. On request, it is also possible to quickly and easily modernize the model with card payment by exchanging the door. The Citea and CiteaPico can either be connected to a power line or fitted with solar panels for autonomous operation regardless of the weather.
CityLine web software as the centerpiece
Management CityLine software merges all parking lot data into a cloud-based system. Here, operators can not only perform configurations centrally, such as fare adaptations, but also view all key statistics and figures such as revenue and parking periods or the number of card transactions in real time. Apart from this, the software automatically reports incidents such as paper rolls depleted and passes this information to service personnel who can quickly remedy the problem. Thanks to a specially designed app, CityLine is platform independent and can be used with a tablet, laptop or smartphone.
By means of interfaces with CityLine, Hectronic also cooperates with parking app providers to enable cities and municipalities to review payment data for all parking processes in one software.
Real-time parking monitoring
It does not matter if paved resp. unpaved parking space or multi-storey parking, the system HecSpot not only monitors parking time, but also optimizes parking space occupancy. For this purpose, Hectronic installs cameras at different positions to cover the entire parking space. Depending on the parking space situation, a single camera can cover up to 300 parking spaces. These snapshots are sent to CityLine in the interval desired by the customer and there in relation to the framework data previously defined. On this basis, the system knows, among other things, how many parking spaces are still available. An interface can transmit this occupancy information to the parking guidance system which alerts drivers at an early stage when a parking space is occupied. This improves the flow of traffic and avoids traffic jams.
Another useful function, for example for operators of supermarket parking lots, is the surveillance the maximum parking time and the detection and notification of parking infractions. For this purpose, the maximum parking time for a defined area of ââthe parking space is determined in CityLine. If a vehicle exceeds this time or is in the no-parking zone, in a fire brigade lane entrance or supplier access, the software notifies a selected group of people of the violation by mail, allowing them to react by mail. result.
At the same time, the function ANPR allows automatic recognition of license plates. To this end, a camera at the entrance scans the license plate of the approaching vehicle. After completing the parking process, payment is made via Hectronic payment solutions. Another camera scans the license plate again when the vehicle leaves. If approved, the system grants approval and successfully completes the parking process. If there is no authorization, however, all relevant data will be provided to the supervisory authority and the barrier (optional) remains closed.
The future of parking management is digital
“We are moving from a manufacturer of classic parking machines to a provider of solutions around the complete management of the parking lot â, underlines Christian Kuppel, Director of the Parking Systems Business Unit at Hectronic, and adds: âWith our CityLine cloud-based software as a platform, we have taken a big step towards digitalization. We are constantly pursuing this path with our modern terminals, digital services and the integration of a variety of interfaces.
