‘Major Incident’ Under Investigation at Juniper Acres; few details given, structural fire reported in area

ALFALFA, Ore. (KTVZ) – Crook County Sheriff’s deputies and firefighters responded early Saturday morning to a “major incident” in the largely off-grid Juniper Acres area east of Alfalfa, and Authorities did not release further details but said, “At this time, there is no risk to the public.”

Deputies and firefighters responded shortly before 6 a.m. to the incident off Southeast Cascade Way and Reservoir Road, Sheriff Sgt. Javier Sanchez said in a brief news release.

“The investigation is ongoing and several resources are assisting with this incident,” the sergeant added.

“For those not residing in the Juniper Acres area, we ask that you please stay out of the area as this event continues to unfold and is actively under investigation,” Sanchez said.

The sergeant said “more information will be released later”. Sanchez had no further details to provide as of noon.

However, unconfirmed police scanner reports indicated that Crook County Fire asked Alfalfa Fire to assist with a structure fire shortly after 6 a.m. in the 1700 block of Palm Lane, with people possibly at inside, and Bend Fire & Rescue also sent a medical unit.

We will have more details as they become available.
