A Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) team on Thursday razed a suspected illegal religious structure being built on MCYJ land in Darwa village of Yamunanagar district.

According to reports, Chief Sanitary Inspector Anil Nain was informed that some people were building an illegal structure and naming it as a religious structure on the government land opposite the dairy complex in Darwa village under Ward 11 under the MCYJ area.

On the instruction of the Deputy City Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, a team consisting of CSI Anil Nain and Sanitary Inspector Govind Sharma was formed.

“We demolished this unauthorized construction structure using an earth-moving machine today,” said Anil Nain. He said no one would be allowed to illegally take possession of government property and build any illegal structure on government land. “We are taking strict action against such people, who are found illegally taking possession of government property and building illegal structures on government-owned land,” Anil Nain said.

Deputy City Commissioner Ashok Kumar appealed to people not to undertake illegal construction and illegal possession of government land anywhere within the MCYJ area. He said that before starting any construction work, the plan of the building must be passed, in addition to completing the other required documents.
