Icelandair changes its organizational structure – Monitordaily

Icelandair will divide its business division into separate divisions for customers and revenues. The customer division will focus on strengthening the Icelandair brand, while the revenue division will combine the company’s revenue-driven network, revenue management and sales functions into a single division. Each division will be headed by a member of the executive committee, with the commercial division headed by the yet to be appointed director of clientele and the revenue division headed by Tomas Ingason, the company’s newly appointed director of revenue.

Ingason has been the Chief Information Officer / Director of Business Development for the Company since joining Icelandair in 2019. He was Commercial Director of WOW air from 2018 to 2019 and Director of Rapid Digitization at Arion Bank between 2016 and 2018 Prior to that, Ingason was Director of Business Development for WOW air in 2014 after serving as a Management Consultant at Bain & Company in Copenhagen and Director of Revenue Management and Pricing at Icelandair for several years.

In addition, the company will create a digital and data division headed by a digital director who has not yet been appointed. The division will support business units in their quest to simplify processes for customers and further enable data-driven decision making across the enterprise.

Recruitment for the Chief Customer Officer and Chief Digital Officer positions will begin immediately.
