Apple to Source iPhone 14 Display from BOE: Beebom Report

Apple will soon launch the iPhone 14 series in a few months and we have seen a plethora of leaks and rumors about it. We now have information about the iPhone 14 display and if we are to believe it, the iPhone 14 phones will most likely come with BOE’s display panels. Here are the details.

iPhone 14 to get BOE OLED display panel

According to a recent report by The elect, Apple is evaluating BOE’s OLED display panel samples for the iPhone 14. The company is expected to provide a response later this month. If approved, BOE will begin mass-producing iPhone 14 display panels between July and August. It is also said that while BOE will be the display supplier for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max, Samsung and LG will be roped in for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max displays.

For those unaware, Samsung and LG are expected to begin production work by the end of this month, unlike BOE’s July-August schedule. There might be a slight chance that the standard models will be delayed if BOE is involved. Although this is pure speculation.

As a reminder, Apple a few months ago stopped production of the iPhone 13 display panel when it was found that BOE was changing the design of the display circuit. It turns out that Apple wants to give BOE another chance and therefore the revaluation. It is also suggested that BOE will resume making display panels for the iPhone 13.

It remains to be seen which display maker will end up making the OLED display for the upcoming iPhone 14 series. This time around, we expect a design overhaul with the introduction of a “hole + pill” design for replace the notch. However, the rear design will remain the same and come with minor adjustments.

Other aspects such as cameras, battery, etc. will also see various improvements. Another change we can expect is that Apple might reserve the new A16 Bionic chipset for high-end Pro models and ship the other two models with last year’s A15 chip. There’s a lot to look forward to and those details are due to come to light in September. We’ll have to wait for Apple to confirm the iPhone 14 details and until that happens, it’s best to trust the rumors and wait for official word. We’ll be sure to update. So stay tuned.
