The qualifications

Twenty drivers have qualified for the All-Star Race, while the remaining sixteen will compete in the All-Star Open.

Open cars receive 15 to 20 minutes of practice time to start the weekend, followed by All-Stars, who receive the same time. Open qualifying is a standard one-car, one-lap competition.

The starting order for the 50-lap race is determined by cars completing a lap in reverse order of their current owner points.

There will be two qualifying rounds for the All-Star team. Typically, the first qualifying round consists of one car and one lap. The top eight drivers will then advance to round two, where things get wild.

Eight drivers will compete in a knockout bracket. Two cars will be placed in adjacent pits near the end of pit road. Upon hearing an alarm, each pit crew will replace all four tires.

Then, when the jack is lowered, drivers will exit their pits and re-enter the track at their discretion. The car that crosses the finish line first advances to the next lap. The last two cars are fighting for pole position.

The format

Sixteen teams compete in the All-Star Open for four spots in the All-Star Race. The 50 lap race will be divided into three segments of 20 laps, 20 laps and 10 laps. In addition to the fan-selected winner, the winners of each stage will also advance to the All-Star Race.

If the driver wins the stage with the most fan votes, the next most popular driver advances to the All-Star race.

There are 125 rounds in the main event, divided into four stages of 25, 25, 25 and 50 rounds. Here is a summary of how it works:

Stage 1 (25 laps): The winner of stage 1 will start the final stage first if they finish 15th or better in stages 2 and 3.

Stage 2 (25 laps): Stage 2 will start second in the final stage if they finish 15th or better in Stage 3.

Stage Break (Pit-Stop Race): Each team must change all four tires in the pits. The team that spends the least amount of time on pit road (entering and exiting the pits) wins the pit crew award, and the driver will start fourth in the final stage if they finish 15th or better in the step 3.

The winner of stage 3 (25 laps) starts the final stage in third place.

The fourth stage consists of fifty turns. The winner of stage 1 is positioned; first, the winner of Stage 2 is seeded second, the winner of Stage 3 is seeded third, and the winner of the pit stop competition is seeded fourth.

If a “natural” warning occurs between laps 15 and 25 of the final stage, the race will continue. If there is no “natural” warning during this time, NASCAR will call it an “All-Star” competition warning. The race and a million dollars are awarded to the winner of stage 4.
